I teach Business Communication courses in the Indiana University Kelley School of Business in Bloomington, Indiana. With experience both in business and the classroom, I emphasize the application of presentation skills as a unified package – verbal, visual, and written to help students express their ideas in ways that are powerful, persuasive, and impactful. The wholistic approach to communications reflects the expectations of business today where graduates are expected to use multiple modalities to clearly and impactfully express their ideas.
I believe the classroom is a workshop for communication where everyone should be encouraged and empowered to share, experiment, reflect, and try again. This process, when partnered with engaging activities, relevant examples, and quality practice, results in deep and powerful learning.
Beyond university teaching, I am deeply involved in the Bloomington community and enjoy outdoor activities with my family. If you want to have a conversation with me, a great area for discussion is the power of food in communication.
