The Management & Entrepreneurship Department at the Kelley School of Business is widely recognized as one of the leading groups in the field. With over 30 tenured and tenure-track faculty, the department is notable for its intellectual diversity and wide-ranging research interests. This creates a dynamic environment where PhD students are encouraged to explore ideas across disciplinary boundaries.
Our doctoral students come from a rich variety of academic and professional backgrounds—including economics, engineering, information systems, public policy, think tanks, psychology and business. Some enter the program directly after completing undergraduate studies, while others bring advanced degrees and significant industry or entrepreneurial experience. Prior exposure to research and methodological tools is beneficial but not mandatory.
