This course explores the multifaceted concept of human sustainability. We will explore the theoretical foundations, practical applications, and emerging trends in the fields of organizational behavior and human resources management that contribute to creating environments that are high-performing and also sustainable for the people who work in them. Students will examine topics such as high-performance work systems, work-life balance, employee well-being, employee engagement, and the impact of technology on human sustainability. The course also addresses health and safety in the workplace, the development of sustainable organizational cultures, and future trends in this area. Through a combination of lectures, case studies, and a research project, students will gain a comprehensive understanding of how to drive change in organizations to make them better meet the needs of the people who work in them, and achieve higher levels of performance.
