This course examines sustainability from an operations perspective, and studies related strategies and tools, such as lean manufacturing, six-sigma, environmental management systems, ISO 14001, LEED certification, life cycle assessment (LCA), carbon footprint, servicizing, design for environment (DfE), remanufacturing, recycling, sustainable purchasing, and renewable energy. The course also studies the financial returns of sustainability investments.
