    Leading with AI: Project Management

    AI is transforming how teams plan, collaborate, and deliver. This AI training for project managers gives working professionals the skills to integrate AI tools into everyday workflows, enhance decision-making, improve visibility, and reduce manual effort.

    You’ll learn how project managers can utilize AI to clarify scope, manage risks, and keep stakeholders aligned, so projects move forward with less friction and more focus.

    Hybrid course schedule

    January 22: Self-paced, online Gen AI 101
    January 29: In person in Indianapolis, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    February 5: Live virtual session, 1 to 3:30 p.m.
    February 12: Submit project for digital badge (optional)
    Fee: $1,495 per person (IU alumni, IU staff and team discounts available)

    Through interactive sessions, case studies, and real-world application, you’ll learn to:

    • Master project management fundamentals: Define scope, timeline, resources, and accountability, keeping your projects simple, visible, and actionable.
    • Predict and prevent risks: Use AI to flag dependencies, identify slippage, and spot bottlenecks early.

    You’ll complete an Action Learning Project tailored to your organization, leaving with a repeatable framework for reliable delivery.

    Complete four courses from the Leading with AI professional development series and earn the Kelley Professional Certificate in AI Leadership.

    Course outline

    Asynchronous, online introduction to the course, including short pre-reading assignments and an overview of GenAI. Upon purchasing this course, you will be provided additional instruction on how to access the asynchronous material/videos that can be completed any time before the live in-person session.

    Hands-on practice and peer discussion; one day, in person (Indianapolis)

    Format: Combination of asynchronous online, live online, and in-person classes
    Schedule: January 22 to February 12; in person in Indianapolis on January 29
    Discounts: Available for IU alumni, staff, groups of three or more participants, and purchases of four or more courses*

    *Purchase four or more courses in the Leading with AI series and receive a $1,500 discount. Pay a total of $4,480 (regularly $5,980), a 25% savings.

    Meet your instructor

    Carl Briggs

    Carl Briggs

    Clinical Professor of Operations and Decision Technologies, Kelley School of Business

    Carl Briggs is a clinical professor of operations and decision technologies and co-director of the Business Operations Consulting Workshop. During his 30 years with the Department of Operations and Decision Technologies at the Kelley School of Business, he has been recognized for his innovative approach to management education, receiving teaching awards and accolades in the United States, Asia, and the European Union. He currently holds active academic appointments in the United States, Germany, China, and South Korea.

    Carl directed Kelley’s Supply Chain Management Academy. His areas of expertise are project management, process improvement, and strategic sourcing. He has trained hundreds of business professionals in areas including project management, process improvement, Lean Six Sigma, value analysis/engineering, supply base rationalization, total cost of ownership, inventory management, and effective contract management.

    Though Carl routinely travels around the world teaching, lecturing, and working with corporations in pursuit of supply chain excellence, he enjoys his Bloomington home, which he shares with his wife Annette and their children, Mariah, Ben, and Emily.
