    Leading with AI: Marketing

    AI can speed up insight, but great marketing still depends on judgment, creativity, and strategy. This course, part of Kelley’s AI executive education series, shows leaders how to balance it all.

    Participants will learn to apply machine learning for marketing analytics and AI-powered digital marketing tools to strengthen research, clarify messaging, and measure performance.

    Whether you’re shaping brand strategy or optimizing demand generation, this course gives you practical frameworks to move faster, think deeper, and communicate clearly.

    Hybrid course schedule

    April 16: Self-paced, online GenAI 101
    April 22: In person in Indianapolis, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
    April 29: Live virtual, 1 to 3:30 p.m.
    May 7: Submit project for digital badge (optional)
    Fee: $1,495 per person (IU alumni, IU staff, and team discounts available)

    Through real-world applications and guided instruction, you’ll learn to:

    • Find real customer insight: Analyze voice-of-customer data, reviews, and search queries using AI tools to hear what customers actually say.
    • Clarify strategy: Segment intelligently, define your position, and connect strategy to funnel metrics.
    • Elevate creative and content: Generate message variations, refine briefs, and sharpen campaign copy, then test what works.
    • Test, measure, repeat: Use AI marketing techniques to design lean experiments, read data responsibly, and drive meaningful improvements.

    Asynchronous, online introduction to the course, including short pre-reading assignments and an overview of GenAI

    • Format: Combination of asynchronous online, live online, and in-person classes
    • Schedule: April 16 to May 7; in person in Indianapolis on April 22, live online on April 29 from 1 to 3:30 p.m.
    • Discounts: Available for IU alumni, staff, groups of three or more participants, and purchases of four or more courses*

    Meet your instructor

    Tony Stovall

    Tony Stovall

    Clinical Professor of Marketing

    Tony Stovall is a clinical professor of marketing at Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business in Indianapolis. His research interests include transformative consumer research, digital marketing and online consumer behavior, urbanism, and consumer identity. He teaches marketing courses in the Kelley Indianapolis Undergraduate Program, the Business of Medicine Physician MBA Program, and the Evening MBA Program.

    Before he decided to pursue academia, Tony’s professional career included time at Korn/Ferry International as a manager and senior executive services representative, at SW Consulting Group as a technical writer, and at Encyclopedia Brittanica Inc. as a project manager. His work has been published in Consumption Markets & Culture, Electronic Markets, Journal of Marketing Management, the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and the Journal of Cultural Marketing Strategy.

    Tony most recently was an assistant professor of marketing at Towson University in Maryland and served two years as an assistant professor of marketing at Woodbury University in Burbank, California. He received his PhD in Retailing and Consumer Sciences and his MBA from the University of Arizona. He received his undergraduate degree in international relations from Stanford.
