    About the GenAI course

    Participants will learn 20 career-ready skills organized around four learning objectives. 

    This course has 16 practical, hands-on lessons across eight modules. In each lesson, learners will:

    • Watch interactive lecture videos (all less than 10 minutes each)
    • Practice with hands-on activities and reflect on their progress
    • Create their own interactions using the prompt library

    The course requires approximately three and a half hours to watch all of the video content. There are also eight reflection exercises and most will take less than 20 minutes to complete.

    Brian Williams serves as the inaugural faculty chair of the Virtual Advanced Business Technologies Department at the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He led development of the school's internal AI system, as well as its first generative AI focused courses. He also developed and serves as lead professor for IU's GenAI 101 course.

    Our tutorial examples use Gemini, but the basic AI use skills taught are transferable across all platforms, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Grok, and the publicly available version of Gemini.

    No. However, we can provide the training files that we used to train our Chatbot, or you may choose to hold “office hours” or your own “ask the professor” tool.

    Yes. The non-exclusive license is meant to help colleges, universities, and organizations accelerate their AI skills education. The license for this content authorizes use through December 31, 2026. It must be limited to an institutions’ students, faculty, and staff who access it after logging in to the institution. Licensees should not redistribute it to the public or other populations. Licensees may make small clips available with their local branding and context for social promotion to their community.
