You'll earn a Business Management Certificate from Kelley and an MS or MSE from Purdue University. Specifically designed for engineers seeking to strengthen their business acumen, courses are completed online so you can earn the BMC and MS or MSE while you continue your role at your current organization.

Program structure
The Purdue–Kelley partnership brings together two nationally recognized institutions to deliver a rigorous, high-impact graduate business experience that combines academic excellence, real-world application, and meaningful professional connections. You'll learn from experienced, industry-connected faculty and earn the same respected degree that students earn on campus, backed by the reputation and prestige of Purdue University and the Kelley School of Business.
Structure
The Kelley online Business Management Certificate program includes:
- 12 credit hours in total
- Approximately 3 credit hours per quarter
- A flexible completion timeline from 1 to 2 years
- Live-virtual sessions, typically once a week in the evenings per course
You'll learn from the same top-ranked faculty who teach in the residential programs.
Application deadlines: June 15 for fall, September 1 for winter, December 1 for spring, March 1 for summer

Before beginning Part 1 of the Kelley application, students must have been admitted to Purdue University’s Engineering Management and Leadership program prior to summer 2026.
If you are not currently a Purdue student, you may still apply to Purdue University’s Engineering Management and Leadership program; however, the business courses will be offered through the Purdue Mitch Daniels School of Business.

Admitted to Purdue prior to summer 2026? You’re ready to begin the Kelley Part 1 application.
Part 2: Indiana University application
After you complete the Kelley application, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to apply through the Graduate CAS Application. During this stage, you will upload the following materials to complete your application:
- Resume
Provide a copy of your resume, summarizing your professional experiences and accomplishments. - Personal statement
Tell us what you want to achieve in this program in 500 words or less. - Letter of recommendation
Ask someone familiar with your professional career to write a letter of recommendation for you. Provide the contact information of your recommender within the application. An email prompt will be sent to their email address, and they will be able to fill out a form and upload the letter. If you need alternative arrangements, please contact keepadm@iu.edu. - Postsecondary transcripts
Provide copies of your transcripts from all of the postsecondary institutions you’ve attended. These copies can be sent to the program, or uploaded into the Part 2 Application.
