    General Motors employees: Earn a Partner MBA from the top-ranked Kelley School of Business

    Through its longstanding partnership with General Motors, the Kelley School of Business offers eligible employees the opportunity to earn an MBA degree designed to accelerate their professional growth within the company. As part of GM's broader education benefits, employees can pursue graduate degrees or certificates that support ongoing professional development and career advancement.This opportunity is also available to employees participating in General Motors’ Technical Education Program (GM TEP).

    Delivered fully online, the program is designed with working professionals in mind. Its flexible format allows you to balance graduate study with demanding professional commitments so you can advance your education and career simultaneously.

    The General Motors Partner MBA program provides in-depth knowledge of core MBA disciplines along with coursework designed to support success within General Motors. The curriculum integrates practical business insights that foster leadership growth, strengthen decision-making, and position employees to advance within the organization.

    Structure

    The Kelley online MBA program includes:

    • 48 credit hours in total
    • 3 credit hours per term
    • A completion timeline from four to five years
    • Live-virtual sessions, typically once a week in the evenings per course

    You'll learn from the same highly ranked faculty who teach in the residential programs.

    TEP students must take a preliminary step before beginning Part 1 of the Kelley application. All other GM employees interested in the MBA may proceed with Part 1.

    The GM Technical Education Program (TEP) is an exclusive opportunity for sponsored GM employees to advance their education and accelerate their careers. To get started, first apply through the GM employee portal. Candidates selected by the GM review committee will then complete the Kelley School of Business application.

    Your education costs through this program are primarily funded and sponsored by General Motors. GM covers all tuition costs, as well as all registration and application fees, making the program available at virtually little or no cost to employees. Employees are only responsible for the cost of any required e-texts, textbooks, reference books, software, and transcripts required by Indiana University.

    Part 2: Indiana University application

    After you complete the Kelley application, you'll receive an email with instructions on how to apply through the Graduate CAS Application. During this stage, you will upload the following materials to complete your application:

    • Resume
      Provide a copy of your resume, summarizing your professional experiences and accomplishments.

    • Personal statement
      Tell us what you want to achieve in this program in 500 words or less.

    • Letter of recommendation
      Ask someone familiar with your professional career to write a letter of recommendation for you. Provide the contact information of your recommender within the application. An email prompt will be sent to their email address, and they will be able to fill out a form and upload the letter. If you need alternative arrangements, please contact keeppartner@iu.edu.

    • Postsecondary transcripts
      Provide copies of your transcripts from all of the postsecondary institutions you’ve attended. These copies can be sent to the program, or uploaded into the Part 2 Application.
