Jeferson Da Silva Barros

Jefferson Barros is an MBA Candidate at Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He is interested in pursuing a career in Consulting, specifically with a focus on strategy and innovation for automotive or banking services industry.

Before coming to Kelley, Jefferson received undergraduate degrees in industrial engineering (Bachelor’s degree) and mechanical technology (Associate’s degree), both obtained in Brazilian institutions. Jefferson’s professional background began in 2001 and is fully based on automotive Industry in Brazil, specifically OE (original equipment) suppliers. In such positions, Jefferson’s main function was to manage projects to deliver new manufacturing process chain into the production site. Some global projects such as Renault Logan, Hyundai HB and Honda City allowed Jefferson to work with multicultural teams and travel abroad (South Korea). These possibilities have allowed Jefferson to learn new languages.  He currently speaks English, Portuguese, French and Spanish (the latest not fluently).

In parallel to work and studies, Jefferson is an athletic enthusiast and enjoys such sports as jogging, cycling and martials arts (jiu jitsu and muay thai).

Jefferson’s decision to embark in a MBA is to switch careers from Industrial engineering to consulting, while at the same time leveraging his past experience as a value added characteristic to his new career.
