Brad Alford and Nestlé's involvement with the Kelley School is a testament to the enduring connections of the Kelley alumni network.

Alford's carer took him to Carnation Company as a sales trainee after graduation, where he quickly moved up to associate product manager in the pet foods division of the company. In 1989, he transferred to Nestlé Australia and began a career there that eventually resulted in his 2006 promotion to chairman and CEO of Nestlé USA, which includes Nestlé Beverage, Nestlé Confections & Snacks, Nestlé Emerging Markets Division, Nestlé FoodServices North America, and Nestlé Prepared Foods.

Alford credits his Kelley education in his success, and the company regularly recruits at Kelley. In 2007, he helped strengthen the relationship further with a $750,000 gift from Nestlé that established the Nestlé Faculty Fellowship in Marketing, and endowed professorship and faculty chair that will help ensure Kelley continues to bring the very best scholars to the program. In addition, the gift will fund programs within Kelley's Center for Brand Leadership and the Kelley MBA Consumer Marketing Academy, where the next generation of marketing leaders will get their start.
