International Students
Steps one and two cover application information for international applicants to Kelley Direct's MBA or master’s degree programs.
Complete the online Kelley Direct application. There is no fee for this application. All applicants to Kelley Direct must have their applications completed and received by the Kelley Direct Admissions office by the application deadlines indicated on this page. Applications received after the deadline will be considered on a case-by-case basis depending on space availability.
For detailed information on applying to Kelley Direct, including all required documentation and an application checklist, please read Kelley Direct’s Application Process page.
There is a nonrefundable $75 application fee. You must pay the application fee via credit card online or by wire transfer during the application process. The Office of International Admissions does not accept checks or money orders.
Guide to Getting Started:
Kelley Direct students complete the IU Graduate Application online. Please be sure that pop-ups are allowed on your browser and JavaScript is activated. Your browser will need to allow pop-ups from www.indiana.edu.
Log out of the IU Graduate Application system after each session. You do not have to complete the application in one sitting, but you will need to use your username and passphrase to log back in.
- Open the IU Graduate Application. This will open in a new window. Choose “apply now.”
- Create an account by clicking the “create a new guest account” button. Be sure to note the account username (an email address) and passphrase you have created, as you will need these to logon and continue the application.
- Go to your email inbox and open your “Guest account confirmation” email. Click “activate your guest account” to return to the IU Graduate Application page.
- Click “continue admissions application.”
- Log in to continue the application using your newly created username and passphrase.
- Complete the four pages of the IU Bloomington Graduate Admissions Application.
- Note that on the Additional Information page, you can leave the Social Security Number blank—a University ID number will be assigned to you in your admission letter.
- On the Application Information page, under “Academic Program,” select “Business Graduate Kelley Direct Programs”
Do not mail materials to the Office of International Admissions.
Kelley Direct is not responsible for materials sent to another office on campus in error or for incorrectly labeled materials.
Based on the U.S. Department of State’s guidance governing the issuance of visas for short-term in-residence programs for distance education students, the Office of International Services advises that Kelley Direct students (certificate/non-degree or degree-seeking) apply for F-1 visa stamps in order to enter the U.S. in F-1 status. A new I-20 and SEVIS fee will be required for each in-residence segment in which the student is required to participate. A new F-1 visa stamp may be required as well.
(Current guidance from the Department of State clarifies that the F-1 visa stamp is invalid after a student is absent from the US for 5+ months.)
International Kelley Direct students who are not presently in the United States for work or study, must communicate with Kelley Direct to submit the necessary documents required for I-20 issuance. (I-20s will be issued by Indiana University’s Office of International Services.) International Kelley Direct students will then apply for F-1 student visas from U.S. Consulates/Embassies outside of the U.S. Obtaining an appointment with the Consulate/Embassy can take up to 30 days, so be in touch with Kelley Direct regarding the I-20 well in advance of your In-Residence.
If you already have B-1/B-2 (business/tourist) visa stamps OR are citizens of countries who are part of the Visa Waiver Program, you are advised to follow the F-1 procedures as well.
Exceptions:
If you will be in the U.S. on a B-1/B-2 or another Visa prior to the In-Residence program and will not leave the U.S. and re-enter for the In-Residence program, you will not need the I-20 or F1 visa stamp.
Admission Decision
Kelley Direct operates on a rolling admission process. This means that once your applications to both the University Office of International Admissions and Kelley Direct are complete, and you have submitted all supplemental information, an admission decision will be made and you will be notified of an admission decision from Indiana University and the Kelley Direct as soon as possible. You should expect a decision from us three weeks.
