With the Certificate in Social Entrepreneurship program, you’ll put your business know-how to work solving global problems—from building clean water supplies to improving opportunities in emerging economies. This is a cooperative program between the Kelley School of Business and the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA).

The certificate takes 18 credit hours of course work—six of which are required courses. Of the remaining 12 credit hours, Kelley students must take three credit hours through SPEA.

This certificate also requires participation in Kelley's GLOBASE (Global Business and Social Enterprise Program) or a qualifying internship in social entrepreneurship with a business, nonprofit, or public agency.

Interested students should talk to their academic advisor about pursuing this certificate before January of their first year.

The Certificate in Global Business Achievement will give you a deeper understanding of the cultural, economic, and regulatory forces that affect multinational organizations. In addition to related language and culture class work, you’ll also expand your international perspectives through this program, participating in at least one global learning opportunity that fits your focus.

To qualify for the certificate, you must satisfy the three categories listed below, complete the coursework during your MBA program, and apply to the MBA Office for the certificate before graduation. Previous experience or training cannot be applied.

Category 1, Specialized Course Work: Three credit hours of global business courses, completed within or in addition to your MBA major or minor.

Category 2, Global Experience: Complete one of the listed opportunities.

Category 3, Language and Culture: Complete one of the listed opportunities. Language studies must be in a language other than your native tongue. English language training is not acceptable for this certificate. Culture study must be of a culture other than your native culture. American culture is acceptable for international students.

Courses must be approved by the MBA Program before they are taken.
