Dr. Kuratko is considered a national leader in the entrepreneurial field. He has authored 24 books, including Entrepreneurship: Theory, Process, Practice, eighth edition, a leading entrepreneurship book adopted in universities across the globe. Dr. Kuratko has also published over 160 articles in prestigious journals such as Strategic Management Journal, Journal of Business Venturing, Entrepreneurship Theory & Practice, and many others. Under Dr. Kuratko's leadership, U.S. News & World Report ranks the Kelley School of Business Graduate Entrepreneurship Program #1 among public universities nationwide.

Dr. Kuratko has been honored as Entrepreneur of the Year for the state of Indiana inducted into the Institute of American Entrepreneurs Hall of Fame. The National Academy of Management honored Professor Kuratko with the highest award bestowed in entrepreneurship—the prestigious Entrepreneurship Advocate Award—for his contributions to the development and advancement of the discipline of entrepreneurship.
