Network Design and Management

Understanding network design and management is crucial to analyzing the impact of programming applications for scalability.  This course is a hands-on emersion in the technology that makes up the internet backbone.  Student groups work with enterprise level servers, routers and switching to better understand how to design and manage modern networks.  The goal of this course is to provide students with real-world, hands-on technology that they can immediately put to use when they enter the IT job market. 

Hands on lab-based course covering such topics as:

  • Cisco Routing/Cisco Firewalling
  • Network Security
  • SNMP, TCP/IP, EIGRP, CLI
  • Extensive Linux Install, Setup, Configuration
  • Routing Vs. Routed Protocols
  • Bandwidth and Resource Device Tracking
