Annual Fund
Leadership, loyalty, opportunity...
The prime function of our program within the Kelley School’s Office of Development is to attract annually renewable private support from alumni and friends and match it with the current needs of the School, as articulated by the Dean.
The Annual Fund exists to afford the administration of the School the opportunity to raise academic standards and uphold the quality of the education Kelley students receive. Throughout the year, Kelley alumni and friends are solicited on our behalf by IU Foundation direct mail and Telefund efforts. Those annually pledged gifts, whatever the amount, make a distinct and critical difference in the School’s ability to support vital, otherwise unfunded programs.
Only a very small portion of the Kelley School’s annual budget comes from State allocations – the lion’s share is from other sources, including tuition and private gifts.
Although direct mail and telemarketing are critical tools used to attract Annual Fund dollars in the Kelley School, we personally contact many of our alumni for one-on-one meetings to highlight the purposes and goals of the Kelley Annual Fund - and how they might well meet with our alumni and friends’ philanthropic objectives.
Donor input, connections and initiative are critical to our overall success - and enable our Office to help Kelley alumni stay connected and active in the School that they treasure.

As we head into April the Annual Fund is riding the winds of change. We welcomed new Advancement Specialist, Molly Petersen to the office and she's been a great addition to the team. Here shortly we will also be welcoming a new Assistant Director for Development and Alumni Relations. You can certainly sense the renewed energy as we chug through this quarter. I'll be staying local and reaching out to midwest alums, I'd love to connect with you and discuss how you can become more informed, involved and invested with the Kelley School.
I continue to receive questions about whether it's too late to be a part of the Count Me In campaign. The answer, absolutely not. As a reminder, All gifts totaling $1k over five years will be eligible for listing in a donor recognition board in the building. All gifts totaling $5K over five years will make you eligible to name one of the seats in our new classrooms. Let this be a great way to make your mark. We are eagerly awaiting the completion of this project!
