"Game On, Dude..."

Matt (MBA '05) didn't quite fit the mold for opportunities that were coming through Kelley's Graduate Career Services office. He was interested in the West coast video game industry, and was still seeking work six months after graduation. Then someone helped him - he was connected with a Kelley alum (also named Matt, but an MBA ’99) in the gaming industry who showed him the ropes and gave him straight talk on what takes to get a foot in the door. Matt then connected with a contract job which grew into a career. In turn, Matt has mentored two Kelley MBA students, meeting them at the Game Designing Conference and introducing them to contacts and attendees he knows professionally. One student got a position, the other was offered an internship. Matt said, "I learned how much just one guy can help you, how much difference just one alum can make, and I want to be that guy now!"
