IT Panel Discussion and Networking Reception
An opportunity for Kelley alumni...
This event will combine a panel discussion with distinguished IT entrepreneurs, business people, and investors with a networking reception with fellow IU alumni.
The panel will be hosted by Kelley School of Business professor Donald F. Kuratko (Dr. K) and School of Informatics and Computing Dean Bobby Schnabel.
Panel of experts includes:
Scott Dorsey, BS’89, Co-Founder and CEO, ExactTarget, is responsible for the overall leadership and direction of ExactTarget. Since he co-founded the company, ExactTarget has grown to over 400 employees serving thousands of organizations worldwide. Dorsey has received numerous awards for his business and civic leadership, including Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year, BtoB Magazine’s Who’s Who List in 2008 and 2007, Indianapolis Business Journal’s Forty Under 40, and Junior Achievement of Central Indiana’s Best and Brightest awards. He currently serves on the Dean’s Advisory Council for the Indiana University School of Informatics and sits on several non-profit boards, including NPower, the Indy Partnership, and TechPoint.
Jitendra Kavathekar, President and CEO, TWIKI.NET, most recently served as vice president with Yahoo! and was responsible for general management of the global organization. Prior to Yahoo!, he held executive roles leading business units and engineering teams at Motorola, Palm, and HP, as well as venture based startups, Pixo and Devicescape. Kavathekar has been responsible for award-winning and brand-name products and services in the mobile internet, embedded systems, consumer electronics, wireless systems, and Web based data intelligence domains.
Sanjay Subhedar, MBA"77, Managing Director, Storm Ventures, founded Storm Ventures, a Sand Hill Road venture capital firm, in 2000. From 1997 to 2000, he was at E-TEK Dynamics Inc., a fiber optic component manufacturer, serving most recently as its COO and CFO. Subhedar played a key role in E-TEK’s growth from 400 employees to over 5,000 employees in less than three years, E-TEK’s initial public offering in 1998, as well as E-TEK’s merger with JDS Uniphase in 2000. Prior to E-TEK, he was the CFO for StrataCom Inc. from its inception in 1986 until its merger with Cisco Systems in 1996. He serves on the board of directors of the Indiana University Foundation.
Tim Walsh, BS'91, Head of Structured Products, Silicon Valley Bank, has 16 years of experience in financial services and has been with Silicon Valley Bank since 1997. He currently leads SVB’s Structured Products Division, a group specializing in tailored debt solutions for growing technology companies. Prior to his current position at SVB, Walsh was a business development officer focusing on developing new relationships with early-stage technology companies. Prior to joining SVB, he managed a $200 million portfolio of asset-based credit facilities for NBD Bank in Detroit, Mich.
