Public-Private Partnerships

The last of four conferences in the 2012-13 Indiana Life Sciences Collaboration Series

The Indiana Life Sciences Collaboration Conference Series, coordinated by the IU Kelley School of Business’ Center for the Business of Life Sciences, provides a forum for various players in healthcare and life sciences to strategically consider key business issues. Executives, scientists, medical practitioners, researchers, policymakers and academics drawn from a wide range of backgrounds all contribute to the discussion. Conferences are organized for attendees to increase their knowledge AND have the opportunity to make new connections across the life sciences spectrum.

Conference 4
Public-Private Partnerships: Transferring Discoveries Out of Universities
May 10, 2013

JW Marriott
10 S. West Street
Indianapolis, IN

$150, or $450 to attend all four conferences in the series

Intellectual property developed in the state’s major universities has the potential to be a key
contributor to the continued strength of the life sciences industry in Indiana. However, there can
be legal, financial and cultural barriers making the commercial translation of ideas to useable
products hard to realize. Entrepreneurs, investors, life sciences industry business development
people and university tech transfer officers will share some of their “war stories” and discuss the
opportunities and the pitfalls that challenge life science innovations coming to fruition.
