"The Kelley School of Business has a nationally renowned business program which boasts high performance academically as well as several extracurricular opportunities for students, including the Investment Banking Workshop and the Finance Club. As underclassmen in Kelley, we saw a great opportunity to enhance the experience of Kelley students by providing early exposure to finance-related careers as well as a strong network to enable personal and professional development. We were both interested in finance as underclassmen, but did not have a strong picture as to what a career in finance could entail. As such, we worked in conjunction with the Finance Department to found the Women’s Financial Association with the vision of strengthening peer relationships, enhancing the finance education through practical skill development and workshops, and creating a strong support system for women in the pursuit of their professional and personal goals.
We owe great thanks to the Finance Department at Kelley for their invaluable assistance throughout the process of establishing the Women’s Financial Association. In keeping with their goal of attracting and retaining top female finance students, the Finance Department provided us with insight and support and continues to help this organization grow. Additionally, Dan Greiner, our Faculty Advisor has been instrumental to the success of the Women’s Financial Association from our inception!"
