About Us

Welcome from the Chair

Doug Blocher
“Top employers in the country recruit our students, and more than 100 leading companies recruit at Kelley for ODT majors.”

At Kelley School’s Operations and Decision Technologies (ODT) department, our majors and courses in supply chain management, business analytics, and information systems blend academic rigor with camaraderie and support. Our faculty members are well known for their leading research and widely used textbooks, but they’re also known for being responsive to student needs—mentoring and empowering our students to master the real-world skills they need to succeed in the business world.

Our master’s degrees include the MBA program in supply chain and operations; an MS in information systems; and an online MS in global supply chain management. Our MBA students belong to the Supply Chain and Global Management Academy, and almost all of them take modeling courses taught by Professors Wayne Winston and Chris Albright, internationally recognized as the experts in Excel modeling and authors of the leading textbooks in this area.

These unique programs and innovative courses coupled with cutting-edge technologies enable our students to learn the skills they need to be effective managers and problem solvers.

In addition, our department teaches the six-hour technology foundation required for all Kelley undergraduates. Undergraduates also have a choice of three highly desirable majors in this department: information and process management, supply chain management and operations management, and a co-major in technology management. Any of these majors will prepare you for an exciting career in consulting, information technology, supply chain management, operations management, and business analysis.

ODT faculty have won numerous teaching awards, including Kelley’s overall MBA Teaching Award and Kelley’s Innovative Teaching Award. They have written over 80 articles in professional journals in just the past few years and have written 37 books, including the definitive textbooks in operations management, operations research, data communications and networking, data analysis, and Excel modeling.

Top employers in the country recruit our students, and more than 100 leading companies recruit at Kelley for ODT majors. Please contact us for more information or schedule a campus visit so you can ask your questions in person and see our beautiful campus.
