Leading entrepreneurship scholar joins Kelley School faculty

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. -- One of the nation's top academic researchers on entrepreneurship, Dean A. Shepherd, has joined the faculty of Indiana University's Kelley School of Business as a Dean's Research Fellow and associate professor of management.

A native of Australia, Shepherd came to IU from the University of Colorado-Boulder's Leeds School of Business. His teaching interests include entrepreneurship and strategic management, and he will teach courses in the master of business administration program in venture strategies and venture screening. He also will direct doctoral students who are studying entrepreneurship at Kelley and MBA students who are involved with the school's Entrepreneurship Academy.
His research focuses on decision-making by entrepreneurs, new venture strategy, venture capital, growth and optimization. He also is on the editorial boards of all major entrepreneurship journals.
Shepherd received his MBA degree and doctorate from Bond University in Australia and a bachelor of applied science degree from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
