What will 2004 bring to Hoosiers? Last fall, economists from Indiana University's Kelley School of Business and other professors offered insights into what this year will bring in terms of economic growth. They expound on these views in the pages of the winter issue of the Indiana Business Review .

The new issue of the IBR, a quarterly publication of the Indiana Business Research Center, contains complete economic forecasts from presenters during the school's statewide Business Outook Panel tour. They include forecasts for every major urban area in Indiana including Evansville, Fort Wayne, Kokomo, Indianapolis, Muncie, South Bend/Mishawaka and New Albany. In addition, faculty offer reports on the financial picture, corporate governance and housing.

Forecasts for Indiana, the United States and world regions also are included in the 19 articles which appear in the print version of the IBR. Additional forecasts for Lafayette and Terre Haute are available online. In addition to articles from IU faculty at Bloomington, Indianapolis and other campuses, authors include faculty at other state universities.

Carol Rogers, editor-in-chief and associate director of the Indiana Business Research Center, hopes that Hoosiers will find the forecasts useful. "These experts from our institutions of higher education bring a wealth of experience to the question of how the economy will perform in the coming year as we work through what is dubbed the jobless recovery, a phrase that evokes both concern and optimism," she wrote in her introduction to the issue.
