Professional Interests

Marketing Decision Making

Background

Peter joined the faculty in 1992 and has taught a variety of undergraduate-level courses at the Kelley School of Business including marketing research, marketing management, business-to-business marketing, logistics management, transportation carrier management, and principles of transportation. He has taught a course in nonprofit marketing management for the School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University in Bloomington. Peter has also served as a Mentor in the X220 career development course offered by the Undergraduate Career Services office in the Kelley School of Business. His dissertation, The Consolidated Rail Corporation: An Examination of Government Intervention Into Railroad Restructuring and Ownership in the United States (1992) examined the public policy and management strategy implications of the reorganization of the northeast freight railroad system. While a doctoral student, Peter worked at the Institute for Urban Transportation of Indiana University. His primary research efforts included studies of the intercity bus industry in Indiana and the use of college student interns in public transit management. Peter is also a co author on two management handbooks for public transit industry. Before coming to Indiana University to pursue an M.B.A., Peter was employed by the Connecticut Department of Public Utility Control.
