Doctoral Program
Organizational Behavior & Human Resources Management
Degree Requirements
The objective of the doctoral program course work is to provide students with the knowledge of their chosen major field through exposure to the current literature as well as to acquaint the student with research methodologies and designs. Students in the PhD program are expected to dedicate themselves to the program full time.
The course work for a PhD in Organizational Behavior and Human Resources Management consists of six seminars in the student’s major (three required and three elective courses), three courses in research methodology and statistics, and three courses in a minor field of the student's choice. The minor field must be approved by the advisor for the Department of Management and Entrepreneurship and the minor field department. Each doctoral student is also required to take a teaching development seminar.
Required Courses: take all 3
- Z601: Doctoral Seminar in Organizational Behavior
- Z615: Seminar in Human Resource (HR) Management
- Z798: Seminar in Research Methods
Elective Courses: select 3 from the following
- D620: Seminar in International Business
- J601: Seminar in Strategic Management I

Students may not “double count” courses toward the minor and major. Students may also take their minor from a related field inside or outside the Kelley School of Business (e.g., psychology, economics, or sociology).
Teaching Course Requirement: 1 course
- X630: Teaching Development Seminar
