BLOOMINGTON, Ind. – Simon Fraser University (SFU) hosted the annual international undergraduate CaseIT case competition on February 2nd-5th at SFU in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sixteen undergraduate student teams from all across the world were invited to participate in this four day event to test their knowledge and skills on the topic of information systems.
Friday morning, teams were presented with a packet filled with all the materials needed to begin. Participants had 24-hours to assess the case and present judges with a unique yet viable solution based upon the information they were previously provided. The business problem for this year’s case competition was a startup company, Binnj Inc., wanting to design and support their company’s new product, a digital restaurant menu platform, to be utilized on Apple’s iPad.
“I could not have been more proud of my team and the hard work they displayed throughout the competition. I know this is the start of many more exciting opportunities to come,” said Debbie Newman, KSB team member. Representatives from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business were Debbie Newman, Kavita Patel and Tricia Slevin. All three students will be entering the Masters of Science in Information Systems (MSIS) program in Fall 2011.
