IMA’s ‘Timeless Model’ Leads to Longtime Partnership
John F. Frank
Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer, Brightpoint North America
“IMA’s programs have provided me with timely information on issues that need to be solved in my business, and it’s reassuring to be able to call others nearby and ask them how they are dealing with the same issues.”
John Frank believes so strongly in the value of IMA membership that he helped convince each of his four employers from 1992 to 2008—including IBM Corporation and The Schneider Corporation, a civil engineering firm—to join IMA.
When Frank joined Indianapolis-based Brightpoint North America, a distributor and logistical services provider for the wireless industry, as senior vice president and CIO in early 2009, one of his first tasks was to inquire about Brightpoint’s IMA membership. It had lapsed, and he soon made plans to include it in the next year’s budget.
Frank says the programs and network of peers IMA provides are essential to staying on the leading edge of IT. “IMA’s programs have provided me with timely information on issues that need to be solved in my business, and it’s reassuring to be able to call others nearby and ask them how they are dealing with the same issues,” he says.
“The IM Affiliates have constantly remodeled themselves to make sure they provide the greatest possible value,” says Frank, who notes that IMA members plan the programs to address the challenges they are facing at the time. “They’ve created a timeless model for serving the evolving needs of IT executives.”
