Welcome from the Executive Director
“For more than 30 years, member ideas and needs have been the driving force in IMA.”
Founded in 1979, Information Management Affiliates at the Kelley School of Business owes its continuing success to the commitment and involvement of its practitioner partners.
Unlike other professional organizations, this cooperative includes information systems professionals—from directors to CIOs—from a wide variety of organizations, including health care organizations, service providers, manufacturers, utilities, providers of financial services, government organizations, and higher education institutions.
IMA thrives on the diversity of its members. They recognize that, regardless of industry, most IT challenges and issues will affect all of them. Examples of these issues include:
- Attracting and retaining key employees
- Aligning IT with the business
- Realizing more value from IT investments
- Helping IT staff acquire the skill sets needed for the business
- Managing all of these issues during good times and bad
We address these issues in an annual series of programs whose formats, speakers, and subjects are suggested and prioritized by IMA member organizations to reflect their current needs. Our members continually embrace new ideas for IMA, including participation in the Kelley School’s Master of Science in Information Systems capstone projects and an initiative to sponsor faculty research projects chosen by the membership.
For more than 30 years, member ideas and needs have been the driving force in IMA. If your organization is not an IMA member, we invite you to learn more about how IMA can help your organization succeed in the fast-paced world of IT.
