Santiago Hope is currently an MBA candidate at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He is pursuing a double major in Strategy and Entrepreneurship/Corporate Innovation, as well as a minor in Marketing.
Before coming to Kelly, Santiago worked for five years at Grupo Financiero Actinver, one of the fastest growing financial institutions in Mexico. In 2008, he started as a trainee in the commercial department, one year later he became a manager of the commercial department, and a year after that he became the manager for the Products and Business Processes department where his most outstanding achievements were launching the banking platform and co-leading the acquisition and merger of the private banking business of American Express in Mexico.
While working as the manager of the Products and Business Processes department Santiago developed† many new products in the product lines of checking accounts, debit cards and check books, fixed deposits, overdraft services and margin credit. For each of these products oversaw their development from their executive description, to their operative and financial models, to their implementation and periodic evaluation. He also optimized different existing processes including the account opening process (both in the commercial and in the operational aspects), the reception of foreign checks, the credit approval process, the debit card and check book solicitation process and the flexibilization of the rates and terms of fixed deposits. Towards the end of his time at Actinver, Santiago became very involved in the commercial development of the group, he lead the development and implementation of Business Intelligence (BI) tools to enrich the decision making process for the organization.
Santiago holds a Bachelorís Degree in Industrial Engineering from the Universidad Iberoamericana (Ibero). He is passionate about innovation and strategic business development. He enjoys traveling, cooking, playing soccer, and horseback riding. He is fluent in Spanish, English, French, and Italian.
