Julio Herrera is currently an MBA candidate at the Kelley School of Business, Indiana University. He is pursuing a double major in Business Analytics and Finance, and a minor in Supply Chain & Operations.
Before coming to Kelley, Julio worked for nearly 5 years as SAP Specialist for Compañía Operadora de LNG del Perú, a large energy consortium in South America. He led more than ten projects aimed to design and implement a sophisticated corporate-wide electronic document management system. With this system, the first of its kind in Peru, this company is now able to analyze carefully and rapidly all the relevant documents related to a business problem and thus can come up with much better solutions in less time, at a lower cost, and with better results.
Prior to this experience, Julio worked for 3 years as an information systems analyst and developer for companies such as PricewaterhouseCoopers, Duke Energy Peru, and Estudio Ferrero Abogados (one of the most renowned lawyers in Peru). During this experience he developed solutions such as ERP systems, document management databases, business analysis models, and project accounting software.
Julio holds a Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering at Universidad Nacional de Ingeniería, a leading higher education institution in Peru. He is a talented professional who demonstrates a strong commitment for helping his clients and employers to use information technology efficiently in order to optimize their productivity and increase their profits.
Julio enjoys participating in different sport disciplines such as soccer, basketball, and swimming, and he is passionate about promoting the Andean part of Peruvian culture through the performing of Huaylarsh, the typical dance of the region where he was born, one of the most famous dances in Peru. He is fluent in Spanish and English.
