Jairo Ochoa received her MBA from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University in May 2011with a double major in Marketing and General Management. His first professional experience goes back to his last year of college as a business student, where he started, along with four friends (with backgrounds ranging from visual arts to management), a filmmaking company called Dia-fragma. From this early venture he proved that local filmmaking could be both creative and profitable.
In 2004 he joined Unilever as part of the Management Trainee Program. With this rotational program, Jairo had the opportunity to work on projects in diverse areas such as supply chain, finance, and marketing within the Andean region. After 2 years, he was promoted to Trade Marketing Associate in charge of leading the turnaround of one of the local flagship brands; the challenging but successful execution was awarded with the 2007 FIP Gold Award for home products.
While working at SABMiller-Bavaria, he was able to convert diverse shopper insights into tangible results at the point of sale. With his leadership, Jairo guided SABMiller-Bavaria into a new channel segmentation that brought together Brand and Channel growth needs for the beer category. Ever since he started with Dia-fragma, Jairo has displayed a strong interest in building synergies.
