Juan Pablo Cappello
Juan Pablo Cappello is a well-known cross-border attorney and venture capitalist. Mr. Cappello is a Principal Shareholder in the Latin American Group of Greenberg Traurig, an international 2,000- lawyer law firm. Previously, Mr. Cappello was a director and partner in Patagon.com, which was sold to Banco Santander for a transaction value of over US$750 million. Mr. Cappello is also a well-known entrepreneur and is deeply involved in supporting venture capital in Latin America. He recently co-founded www.Idea.me, the first Latin America crowd funding site, and Sauber Energy, a green energy company in Chile that resolves the problem of “harmonics” in the electrical grid. In addition, he is a serial “seed investor” supporting many other diverse projects including Volaris, a Mexico-based low-cost airline, LinkedStore, an Argentina-based site that supports SMEs, and Senzari, an international music site like Pandora but better. Mr. Cappello is a member of the Global Advisory Board of Endeavor, a leading NGO supporting high-impact entrepreneurship in emerging markets, and of the legal committee of the Latin American Venture Capital Association.
