Leading Discussions
Discussions can be used to provide variety to a lecture class or as an organizing principle for an entire class session. Unlike the lecture format, discussions primarily provide students with a forum where they can experiment with course material and make knowledge their own through discovery, experimentation, application, and the exchange of opinions, and perspectives. For discussions to succeed, both teacher and students must prepare.
