Significant Learning Experiences

What is Significant Learning?

One of the most interesting and important developments in the last five years in Facutly Development is Dee Fink's work on creating significant learning experiences for students. His developmental framework for curriculum and course development is based on his 25 years experience as a faculty developer at the University of Oklahoma. The essence of his model is a represented by a taxonomy of significant learning that includes both cognitive and affective arenas of student learning and blends a variety of previous models of cognitive development (such as Bloom and Perry).
