Master of Science in Accounting
Curriculum
The MSA is an intensive, one-year program in which you will work in student teams, tackling collaborative learning exercises, case analyses, presentations, and consulting projects.
MS in Accounting Learning Goals:
Students who earn an MS in Accounting degree will achieve the following goals:
- Goal 1: Basic Principles of Accounting
Demonstrate a thorough command of the basic principles and operations of accounting. - Goal 2: Integration
Integrate technical accounting knowledge with other functional areas of business to analyze and recommend solutions to business problems. - Goal 3: Legal and Ethical Considerations
Identify, interpret, and apply legal and ethical principles as they relate to accounting. - Goal 4: Communication
Communicate effectively in a business environment. - Goal 5: Team work
Work effectively in teams and organizations. - Goal 6: Professional Skills
Identify and exemplify attributes of career success.
MSA students take a minimum of 30 credit hours for graduation. Our flexible curriculum allows you to pick and choose courses in assurance/risk management and/or taxation. You decide your appropriate concentration of study.
Each fall, MSA student teams (commingled with 3/2 MBA second-year students) engage in a semester-long field consulting project for an area business.
