What should I expect?

Check out our schedule (pdf)

Camp Kelley—a four-day retreat before school begins—will help you ease into college life. You’ll meet fellow freshmen and the experienced upperclassmen of our K-Team and get ready for your new chapter at Indiana University.

At Camp Kelley, you’ll:

  • Learn about how to succeed at Kelley and IU, academically and personally
  • Find out about the various programs and resources available to you as a Direct Admit
  • Meet new friends who are going through a similar experience
  • Gain confidence and feel more prepared to start college
  • Have an awesome experience!

Who can be a Kelley camper?

Camp Kelley is only open to Direct Admit freshmen.  If you are a Direct Admit student and also in the Kelley Living Learning Center, you cannot participate in Camp Kelley because you’ll be involved in your own KLLC programming at that time.

When and where?

Camp Kelley 2014 takes place Friday, Aug. 15, at 1 p.m., through Tuesday, Aug. 19, around noon—more details are available on our schedule (pdf). We’ll meet (and end) on the Bloomington campus, taking chartered buses to SpringHill Camps near Seymour, Ind., about an hour east of Bloomington.

Sounds like fun!

We’ll zip line, play games, swim, do team-building exercises like high and low ropes courses, enjoy campfires with s’mores, and discuss life at Kelley and IU. All activities are “challenge-by-choice,” so engage at your own comfort level—no experience necessary.

How much?

The cost of $275 per person includes transportation to and from the camp, lodging, meals, activities, and a Camp Kelley t-shirt.
