On the CMA

While brand management is a focus, brand managers aren’t the only people to come out of the CMA. Whether it’s retail, brand, or sales, you’ll get a deeper understanding of the consumer. You’ll feel confident in the industry overall.

My Bio

Undergraduate: University of Missouri-Columbia, Business Major, Psychology Minor

Hometown: St. Louis, Missouri

Internship: Kraft, Madison, Wisconsin

As I started looking at MBA programs, I realized the Kelley culture had attracted the type of people I wanted to spend two years with. Coming off the pressure of being a campaign manager for an election in Missouri and working at an advertising agency, a supportive community really mattered to me.

I found that the faculty members care—whether it’s about what they’re teaching or their students’ lives. A personal touch weaves throughout everything in the program. You can’t sneak by without being noticed here. People support each other and push each other.

There are so many opportunities to network with alumni—the academy has connections at all the major companies. Beyond the United States, Kelley has links abroad: I recently visited Peru and consulted with a food company.

The CMA has helped me focus my career and build my marketing acumen. At my internship this summer, I want to be the person other interns ask for help. I have a desire to learn everything I can, and I can work in high-intensity situations.
